Beltaine Eve Sky

The Lady appeared in the dawn sky,
A crescent
Racing just ahead of the rising Lord
Whose light had turned the gray
To yellow behind her.

Pursued, or a lure:
If in four days they couple
She would eclipse his light,
Offering
Darkness at noon.

She'll only stand beside him
This fourth,
Hidden by his glare
Until a moment after sunset
When she bares her other side.

If we raise our Maypole with tomorrow's dawn,
She'll see us even as
We see her
Before the ascending God
Overshadows our vision,

And she'll rule the day before him
Hiding in sunlight,
Pulling forth the waters
As the seas leap to praise
Conjunction of the Lady and the Lord.
