One of the standard items of the late '40s and early '50s were vehicles that were effectively station wagons -- built on car frames, with car bodies -- that were built and marketed as panel trucks. This 1948 Chevy, built from a Galaxy kit, is an example. The front end is the same front end as found on the '48 Chevy sedan; if the back panel had windows, we would have a station wagon. The biggest challenge of this project was creating a good maroon color for the vehicle. I brushed a clear-coat red over a solid color labeled 'rust' to get the maroon.
